The good news for those interested in boating: Anyone born before 1 January 1988 does not need a boating license in Florida! All you have to do is have a Class B driving license. Anyone born after 1 January 1988 must complete an approx. 4-hour online course to obtain the boating license valid in Florida (Florida Boating Safety Identification Card).
The minimum age for renting a boat is 21 years. Please note that leaving the helm to under-21s is also prohibited.
You do not need prior jet-boat experience. At handover our captain walks you through docking, GPS, depth gauge, no-wake zones and local tips, including a short practice run before you leave on your own.
Our all-inclusive rental already covers standard rental insurance. If you want extra skipper liability, security-deposit coverage, accident insurance or trip cancellation (including insolvency protection), Hamburg Yacht Insurance offers individual charter policies you can add separately.
Plan roughly 15 liters per hour per engine as a guideline; actual use depends on speed and load. One full tank typically covers three to four outings. During the briefing we show you the closest fuel docks on the Cape Coral canals.
Required safety equipment is always on board. Children under 12 must wear a life jacket while underway.
